After the wonderful white Christmas we had in 2005 with our friends in Finland, The Sexy and I were quite happy to settle back into the Aussie Christmas thing and do the hot weather thing.

The weather wasn�t entirely in agreement with us (a smattering of rain and some clouds) � but it was close enough. So 2005 was the year of the White Christmas and 2006 was the Year of the Mega-Socialising Christmas. My family does Christmas in the following way: on Christmas Day we all turn up to Auntie Di�s place, eat, drink and be merry. Then we go home and collapse. Then Boxing Day I usually spend watching whatever DVDs Cray got for Christmas :o)

The Sexy�s family do Christmas in the following way: Christmas Eve � friends (Mark I) over for dinner. Christmas morning � open presents. Christmas afternoon � afternoon tea with friend (Mark II), Christmas evening � dinner with friends (Mark III), Boxing Day � lunch with friends (Mark II) and then it�s time to collapse in a big heap. I think that�s the most socialising I�ve ever done in the space of three days.

It was great though to be able to meet all the people that The Parents (as The Sexy calls them) talk about so often and for them to actually meet me in the flesh too. I just hope I made a good impression.

It was probably best I only had one drink per event...and stretched it out over hours, because me and too much alcohol with people I barely know usually leads to embarrassment and the no-holds barred version of "The Finland Story".
