Finally A Doctor That Earned His Qualifications

For a while now Ive been comparing the difference between convenience and quality. Quality wins over for sure. I havent really had a regular doctor for the past 10 years or so, I just tend to go to whoever whenever. When I was a kid Id go to Mums doctor up the street but he has limited open hours (and fair enough, its his practice and hes the only doctor there) and I find that hes always closed when I get home from work or want to go before work. There is a medical centre on the corner just up from Mums doctor and they are open longer.

Im pretty sure Im a hypochondriac but I do tend to get sick a lot (thanks to my bout of glandular fever that gutted my immune system) and at the moment tonsillitis is my bodys favourite disease to contract. When I was younger I never had tonsillitis, its only the last two years that Ive started to get it. I had it 6 times last and year and right now Im going for my 4th bout this year. It just gets a little ridiculous when you keep saying to your doctor that you think you should have them out and he says no its nothing to worry about and only if you get it more than 12 times in a year is it worth it to have them removed. I know they are part of your immune system or something but as someone put it theyre poisoning you! I seem to get more sicknesses now than before I got tonsillitis.

I left work early yesterday so that I could get to Mums doctor before 6 oclock. I made it with half and hour to spare and as I walked in his office his brain must have been ticking over thinking what does she think is wrong now? Considering the last time Id been there had been Saturday it was a fair assessment. I gave him my self diagnosis and he was happy to confirm that. He then said if I get it again hell send me to a specialist to assess if I need them out. Then he asked if I snore. Do I ever! I never used to, just the last few years. Hello connection! Apparently my recent foray into the snoring world is caused by my tonsils. So if I get them removed Ill stop snoring. Im sure the foundations of the house will be happy to know that I work be rocking them at night anymore. This doctor is really good cause he talks to you about what is wrong and doesnt just give you a prescription and tell you to go away like the bulk billing a patient-a-minute people on the corner. He gave me a repeat for it too so that if it comes back again I can just go straight to the chemist to get my dosage.

Three cheers for Dr Mistry!
