So because I�m going to be busy with that for the next few months I decided it was time that I really did something about my co-dependancy on my laptop. Since the day I got it I haven�t missed a day of playing Sims 2 on it. My weekends were just filled with Sims. I have barely gone out or socialised at all. I get out of bed on Saturdays and the first thing I do is switch on the computer. It was starting to get really sad so I did something about it. I gave my mother my power cord to mind for a week. The Sims 2 will only run for an hour on the battery power.

So then I knew all I had was an hour to play for the whole week. I didn�t touch the computer on Monday, Tuesday and Wedne-oh hang on. I got back early from rehearsals and turn on the computer. That was a whole two days without Sims 2. I really was quite proud of myself.

Then yesterday I had a horrible day. I�m not entirely why, I just felt like a sullen teenager all day. You know the type, �Damn the institutions, free the koalas, peace to sunflowers� stuff like that. Then the trains were screwy, my shoe was annoying me and I wanted to hit someone with my nifty $5 walking stick but couldn�t cause my mum was there. I NEEDED the Sims. I couldn�t function without it.

So I reneged on the deal and got the power cord back for last night. It cheered me up immensely. I think maybe it�s just the weekends that I need mum to hide the cord.

Of course next weekend will be very interesting between the battle of wills and my investigative theories as to where she hid it, because next weekend I will have Sims 2: University Expansion Pack in my cold little hands.
