It's A Serious Addiction, No Really It Is Part III Cabbage Patch Kids growing in the garden, Cabbage Patch Kids growing in the sun and the most amazing thing about a Cabbage Patch Kidis that each one grows to be a special one. *bango riff* Ah. The Cabbage Patch Kids LP love it, absolutely love it. And the problem is that I dont understand why everyone else doesnt love it. Its got songs about Bunny Bees and Lavender McDade and Otis Lee and its all narrated by a stork named Colonel Casey. Could you ask for anything more? My Cabbage Patch dolls (Andy and Tegan) have been stored in boxes for years, as has my Cabbage Patch Pet, Pinky (he was pink, shock horror) so its not that Im obsessed with, its the album and might I add its vinyl. Yes siree after years of CCB and myself wearing out the tape version of it on long car trips Ive resorted to the vinyl record. The only disadvantage is that the portable record player doesnt exactly fit in my bag like my discman. Hehe. The premise of the record is that Lavender McDade wants to kidnap some of the kids and put them in the gold mine and start them digging at once. Its got songs about Otis Lee not being afraid and following Cabbage Jack when he steals Sybille Sadie and Rachael Marie. There is a sad song with Sybille Sadie and Rayme (Rachael Marie) lamenting that they are stuck in a goldmine, there is the big brass band number known as the Cabbage Patch Parade and everyone is a part of the party, and the Happy Birthday Hoedown which happens every time a new kid comes along we have a happy hoedown, a happy birthday hoedown of course. Sigh. It doesnt matter how many times I listen to it its all good. Wishing my butt was signed by Xavier Roberts Tyd 11 February 2002 - 9:42 am |
