Let's Go and Have a Flutter

Halloween isnt so big here, youll get a few kids trick or treating, but its just not embraced like it is in other countries. IP&D pointed something out yesterday and I think shes right - The Melbourne Cup is our equivalent of Halloween.

People dress up in silly hats/outfits, its practically a public holiday (well it is in Melbourne) and someone always feels ill at the end because theyve had too much.

Today is that day. And there are an awful lot of women swanning around in dresses, wearing big elaborate hats and sipping champagne...and thats just in my office. Imagine how it would actually be AT the races. Madness.

So I havent put a bet on. Dont know any of the horses and even if I did, probably wouldnt win anything anyway. Ill just settle for getting free nibblies when the race is shown on the big screen in the boardroom.
