Its A Wedding Blow-Out Extravaganza!

And I thought the Rock Eisteddfod was huge. I went to Hiccup Girls wedding on the weekend and the reception was like a stage production. They had a bloke doing sound and lighting the whole night and the place was very lavish.

When the parents and the wedding party came into the room they would have different themed music for them. The cutest was Bob The Builder for the page boy and flower girl. Too cute! Then it all got a little 80s music video on us when the lights went off, there was a spot light aimed at the double doors and some attendants pulled the doors open to reveal the married couple. I half expected to see a smoke machine creating some atmosphere. That came later :o) They had Brazillian dancers come in a do a show. I recognised some of them because for my 21st a few years back we went to Rios in Camperdown for a night of dancing and yummy food and these dancers at HGs wedding were the ones from the restaurant. The girls costumes were as elaborate as ever and the blokes were doing their flippy things all over and then the drumming. I was captivated and started to forget we were at a wedding reception! Then youd see the bride glowing (is that something that happens on wedding days? Why cant we just glow on normal days?) and remember what its all for.

The wow factor increased when they were having their first dance and pyrotechnics were set off either side of them so there was a column of shooting white sparks framing the couple. Nice, very nice. The little gifts that you get (you know with the candied nuts and stuff) were two sherry glasses tied together and I almost felt like I was stealing it taking it home, it just seemed too nice!

I shudder to think how much all that cost
