If you missed the entry Winky is in mouse heaven. Her tumour got too big and it was starting to bleed so I took her to the vet and then she was asleep. I had a funeral (my mum came with me to the vet and attended the funeral) in the backyard of my parents place. Her coffin was a floral box and I wrapped her in white damask cloth. I put a little square of the green towel she liked so much in the coffin with her. She has a headstone and when I go back to mum and dad�s I put some flowers on her grave. You may think that�s a little over the top but I don�t. Freebie understandably was upset and untrusting of me, and very lonely. I went to a pet shop and bought two friends for her. Suel-Suel is brown and white splotches with a tail and red eyes and Scampi is tan and white splotches with a tail and brown eyes. I mention the tail because of Freebie not having one.

They were so tiny when I got them. I had them sitting on the passenger seat when I drove home with them and they kept sticking their little noses out of the little holes in the cardboard box for breathing. For long time readers�can you see where this is going? I pulled up at my place and picked up the box to take them in to meet their new sister. The box was empty. They had chewed the hole a little and squeezed out. They were now roaming around somewhere in my car and me the doofus that I am was sitting there in shock with the car door wide open. I quickly shut in and discovered that Scampi was trying to hide up the lip of the passenger door. It took a little bit of sweating and swearing to grab her and stick her in my new home. I couldn�t for the life of me find Suel-Suel. I looked everywhere, under mats, under the seats and finally I saw her tail sticking out from the mat that was really close to the brake pedal. She was perilously close to jumping into the hole near the brake pedal that would get her into the engine and lost forever � or possibly roasted. Although in theory they are easier to catch when they have a tail it�s harder if your hand is sweating cause they slip right through your fingers.

I got Suel-Suel into her cage with her sister and then introduced them both to Freebie. Freebie started off things well but sniffing their bums and nibbling on their tails. After I scolded her she then proceeded to clean them both and act like the mother figure. Too damn cute! I tested to see if they could slip through the bars of Freebie�s cage on the weekend and although they didn�t try to I think if left to their own devices that they very well could have done it.

Oh and the reason that I�ve taken a while to update just in general is because of this. Yes, I�ve delved into the world of fan-fiction. If you have time I�d appreciate you reviewing it. It�s a good boost to the ego.
