Ironmen, Ironwomen, Taking It To The Outer Limit Wow, what a race! I almost felt like I was there because Mum was calling me every half hour with updates. It was nice cause I�d hear the announcing in the background and get all stirred up with emotion especially when she rang to let me hear the announcing as an Aussie was running down the finishing chute to win!
Congratulations to Chris McCormack! His first ever Ironman Triathlon and he won it! The first time in 12 years that an Aussie has won Forster, it�s just brilliant. Ever since the overseas contestants heard about Forster being a good course we�ve had foreign winners (most noteably the Germans who seem to be brilliant at cycling). I�ve been watching Chris for a couple of years since he was on the pro circuit doing the shorter course tris � looks like he�s got a future in long course! Geez it would be great if he went to Hawaii and blitzed them! We�ve only had one Aussie win at Hawaii and that was the legendary Greg Welch! Dad did 12hr 29min which was an improvement on last year by 25 minutes. He was fifth in his category out of the swim � brill! He really wanted to do under 12 hours this year but half way through the run he wasn�t feeling too good. But he said the good thing was that he felt a lot better when he finished this year than when he finished last year so that�s good. I�ll definitely be up there next year barracking him on seeing as I will have transportation by then.
