It�s A Vicious Thing This Early Morning Swimming When Nudie and I go swimming three times a week we�ve given little names to all the people that frequent the pool like we do. There is the Slappy Arm Bloke who usually gets out just after we arrive and we jump into his lane. There is the One Who Does Not Forget/Forgive. The story with her is that when Dad and Pete used to come swimming with us we�d all get into the same lane and swim together. Well Pete was already at the pool when we got there and we stopped him as he got to the end of the lane. There was another lady in the lane that had a similar cap on like Nudie so he grabs her by the head and goes �Here she is� while lightly tousling her head. Suffice to say, she was not amused. Dad then apologised but she never seems to have gotten over it hence, One Who Does Not Forget/Forgive. Then there is The Stripy Slow Woman who doesn�t seem to notice that she swims really slow and if you come to the end of the lane won�t let you pass and will continue plodding along. There is also She Who Once Left The Curler In Her Hair. She�s a lovely old lady who once went into the pool and still had one of the curlers in her hair. She�s nice and always says hello to us. This morning a new lady joined the long named few. She is One Who Smiles. I was doing my last few laps and I always look slightly ahead so I don�t bump into people and as I was approached the end of the lane I saw a crotch I didn�t recognise. I know that sounds really weird and kinda gross, but I didn�t recognise the cossie so I knew someone new had jumped in. Nudie said there was mutual smiling so we�ve added her to the nice list. Then there is the parents that sit and watch their kids get yelled at by the squad coach. We don�t have a particular name for them. I just prefer to call them the Rude Stare-y People.
