Yuppy Girl Mark III - Canberra Before we went to NZ, The Sexy and I headed to Canberra along with a bevy of Genesians for the Canberra Festival of One-Act Plays (or something like that) to perform Yuppy Girl that had its debut last year at the Genesian and then a well-received performance in Wyong (at least well-received by the audiencethe adjudicator was either blind, deaf and mute or dead) in May/June (my brain is fuzzy, okay?). So we were a little bit nervous due to the rather uncomfortable situation the last time it was performed (I was this close to throwing a chair at the lady and I think everyone else was ready to storm the stage and thwack her about the head with the microphone), but we soldiered on nonetheless. Id say that the Canberra one was better received than Wyong if only for the fact that we won two awards! Yay :o) Best Characterisation by an Actress for the lovely Leah and Adjudicators Award for the production as a whole for the originality of the staging and the ensemble performance of the cast and crew which was obviously for all of us :o) And of course there were the awards we won at the Inaugural Genesian Awards night. So that is definitely something Gen can add at the beginning of Yuppie Girl. The award winning etc :oD We got back in time from NZ for a Yuppie Girl BBQ at Leahs place (although The Sexy was busy nerding it up at a D&D day) and it was nice to see everyone again. Its sad to let go of the production but as they do say Third times the charm so Im afraid if we did it a fourth time the world might explode. Ridiculously yours Tyd 25 October 2006 - 3:03 pm |
