Right on Target When moving to a new suburb (and indeed a new job every couple of weeks) its imperative to sort out the shopping situation. Where can I get groceries, fruit and veg, possible lunch alternatives. I think these opportunities are really getting me out there to explore lots of things. That and when someone opens up a conversation with, You know the Woolies at Strathfield and/or Coles at Eastgardens I can answer with a definite Yes, yes I do instead of my usual glassy-eyed, Er, ah, not so much and then totally ruin their story. Now Ive settled into shopping at Broadway, its a 10-15 minute walk from home and its got everything. Well not quite. Its got Coles, Harris Farm, a butchers, a bread shop, Freedom, Go-Lo, Vodafone, Just Cuts, Rebel Sport and Kmart (and various other places I dont use) but its lacking in a Target. Yes, yes, I know, its got a Kmart. But its not the same! There is something about the clothes, shoes and underwear at Target that makes me more likely to purchase there. I think maybe its their range of work-type clothes that gets me. Kmart just seems to be lacking. That and their range of novelty underpants is seriously lacking (and far too many of them are pink). When I worked at the NSW Fire Brigades last year (close to Chullora Shopping Centre good shopping there) I saw in all the incoming mail about applying for a safety inspection for the proposed new level at Broadway Shopping Centre. Well didnt my eyes just prick up at that! (Yes eyes, I didnt hear it I saw it :oP). Then in the excitement of going to Finland for Christmas and New Year I forgot all about it. Until yesterday. I thought Id give the old Broadway Shopping Centre website a look-see to find out any further information. The third level will contain 30 specialty stores and...TARGET! *pumps fists in the air* And I only have to wait until early 2007 I can wait, for the underwear goodness of Target, I can wait!
