BabyDonk made his arrival (finally!) on 23rd of April at 1.11pm. He didn't arrive at home like we'd planned (in fact a lot of what we'd planned grew wings and flew right at the window at light speed) but we did spend 17 hours of labour walking from room to room in our house and breathing.

I was a little surprised that the breathing and relaxing things worked especially when the pain upped the ante. After 22 hours our little man made his poo-covered entrance (he was 2 weeks and 2 days overdue so he'd pooed in there and was head to toe in the stuff - a shade of green, not brown like grown ups) and when his head came out I actually did reach down and touch it (didn't think I would) and it was so soft. The Sexy cut the cord and the placenta is now in the freezer.

Just for shits and giggles I want to invite some people around for dinner in a month or so, have The Sexy whip up a batch of his top-class, fantasmagorical lasagne and when they are half-way through it ask them if they are enjoying the Placenta Lasagne. The looks on their faces would be priceless!
