Two Tipsy Bastards My Dad and I cooked dinner last night. It's a rare occasion. It usually only happens when Mum is out of town and my sister and her boyfriend are elsewhere. It's only happened once before. So when get down to business. First thing on the agenda - alcohol. Dad's a bit of a Bombora drinker (that's a cheaper version of Malibu) so I suggested we crack open a bottle. No go. The coke we mix it with will keep him awake. So we decided to get into the cooking. Dad loves vegies - he's obsessed. So I set about cutting up a large carrot. He said we needed more vegies. I poured us each a large Kaluha and milk. Long story short. 20 minutes later we had way too much carrot, half a field full of broccoli, only three potatoes and a mountain of peas. After filling up our plates we discovered there was no room for the sausages. Solution? Have some more Kaluha. :o) So it took us about an hour to prepare and cook everything and then kept wondering why Mum hates doing the cooking - we had the time of our lives nearing setting fire to the curtains, nearly setting fire to the hotplates and nearly burning ourselves with the vegie steamer. That's my idea of a good meal Tyd3 August 2001 - 2:18 pm |
