Just Like Singapore We Live In A 'Fine' City Today marks the first day of government imposed water restrictions. You can't hose your car, your driveway, no use of sprinkler systems. You'll get fined if you do. Our dam is at 60% of capacity which it normally is at the end of summer...but we're not even mid the way through spring yet. I understand it. But in the month following the announcement that on the 1st of October the water restrictions would come in place, the dam went down another 1% as people frantically hurried to wash cars and driveways and stuff. So today was the first day of all this serious water conservation. And it rained. :o) Do you think the clouds will get in trouble? I mean they were sprinkling everywhere, not just on gardens. Definitely watering down cars and other hard services. Isn't the government going to track down every single one of them and charge them $220? Was this rain predicted or did the weather forecasting industry keep this under their belts so the government would look like a goose? Either way it's funny. Tyd 1 October 2003 - 5:59 pm |
