Scandic Trip - Day Five: Love Me, Love My Phone I used to think that Aussies were obsessed with their mobile phones but then again I thought that before I came to Finland. It is the home of Nokia after all, I really shouldn't be all that surprised! How would you like to play Putt-Putt golf via SMS on the TV. What the? you say. Exactly my point. And there are other games you can play with your mobile phone that are shown on TV. It's all very bizarre to me. And they have SMS chat on one of the channels too. Anna told me the kids have huge mobile phone bills and their parents get angry. I'm not surprised! There is a famous Finnish cartoon that has two people walking side by side down a street and they are SMSing...to each other! It's a common thing that they would rather talk via typing than with their voice as they are a shy bunch of people. Too cute! Best be off now, about to jump on a boat to go and see reindeer farming and Sami culture. Hei hei Tyd |
