Absence Makes The Mind Grow Fuzzier

During one of the many phone calls I received from the parental units whilst they were on holidays Mum mentioned that Buddy may not remember cause it would have been so long. I scoffed heartily at this there is no way he could forget his Mummy that hed followed around like a little...well puppy, since wed adopted him from the RSPCA. He wouldnt forget her not EVER!

Apparently he didnt get the memo.

CCB and I took him to the airport to pick them up this morning and he cringed away from Mum. Cringed! He only cringes when he meets new people. It was an odd moment. I couldnt believe it. How horrible must Mum be feeling at this point? It makes me think about how a dogs memory works. Is it like dog years, how one human year equals seven dog years? If so that means the five weeks there were away would have been like [put mathematical equation here that explains how long in dog time it would have been. Dont forget!] in dog time. I suppose he could have misplaced his memory of a certain person.

By the time we arrived home and entered the house it was like a giant light bulb went off in his head Its Mum! he commenced daily routine of dancing and prancing around in circles. It must have been the strange surroundings at the airport that put his nose and memory off their recognition sensors.

They will have bonding time while Im at work today. That will fix it Im sure.
